To date this extension has been put into place with no changes to the restrictions to daily life under the ECQ, which took effect MON 16.March 2020. However, the Government is studying a “selective quarantine” for Luzon, constantly weighing-up the possible impact on public health and security before making any decision. Coincidentally, mass testing for the coronavirus begins today in Metro Manila, a day after the City of Manila and Quezon City began their own localised testing. The increased number of test may have an impact on the statistics re infections and deaths from COVID-19. This area, too, will be monitored and reported on this site.
